Frequently asked questions
Does it come with a battery?
No. This is the bare tool listing (2953-20). You need an M18 battery and charger sold separately, or buy the kit version (2953-22) which includes both.
Will it work with older M18 batteries?
Yes. Any genuine M18 lithium-ion battery works with this driver, including older M18 RedLithium and current XC, HD, and HighOutput packs.
What's the difference between FUEL and SURGE models?
FUEL is the standard high-torque hex impact driver. SURGE is Milwaukee's quieter hydraulic impact, around 50 percent less noise and 3x less vibration, slightly less torque. SURGE is better for indoor work or hours-long fastening; FUEL is better for raw speed.
Can it drive 4 inch lag bolts into pressure-treated lumber?
Yes, with the appropriate hex-shank lag driver bit. The 2,000 in-lbs torque handles 1/4 to 3/8 inch lag bolts in PT lumber without bogging down. Larger lag bolts are easier with the M18 FUEL high-torque impact wrench.
