A cordless 6-inch mini chainsaw weighing a few pounds, sold with two batteries so you can keep cutting while one charges. The size is the point: it handles branches up to roughly five inches through, which covers the overwhelming majority of yard pruning, without the weight and kickback of a full-size saw. One-handed operation is what makes overhead pruning practical. Includes a safety guard and chain oil. Best fit: seasonal yard cleanup, storm branch removal, cutting firewood to length, and anyone who has been using loppers on branches that were too thick for them.
Pros
- Light enough for genuine one-handed use, which matters most for overhead pruning
- Two batteries included so cutting continues while one charges
- Handles branches up to about five inches, covering most yard pruning
- Safety guard and chain oil included in the box
Cons
- Chain tension needs checking and adjusting fairly often, more than a full-size saw would
Frequently asked questions
How thick a branch can it actually cut?
Comfortably up to about five inches. It will work through slightly more with patience, but that is past what the bar was designed for.
How long does one battery last?
Roughly 30 to 45 minutes of intermittent cutting. Continuous heavy cutting drains it considerably faster, which is why two are included.
Does the chain need oiling?
Yes. It uses standard bar and chain oil and the reservoir needs topping up regularly. Running it dry wears the chain fast.
Is it safe to use one-handed?
It is designed for it and the weight allows it, but always use the safety guard and keep your other hand clear of the cutting path.
