A 9-in-1 detector that combines the three sweeps people actually need in one pocket unit: RF scanning for transmitting devices, a magnetic sensor for GPS trackers stuck under a vehicle, and an infrared lens finder that makes camera optics flash back when you look through the viewer. Most single-function detectors only do one of those, which means a real sweep needs three gadgets. Sensitivity is adjustable so a hotel room full of legitimate WiFi does not read as one long alarm. It runs on an internal rechargeable battery and fits in a jacket pocket. Best fit: frequent travelers, short-term rental guests, and anyone who wants to check a car before a long drive.
Pros
- Covers RF transmitters, magnetic GPS trackers, and camera lenses in one device
- Adjustable sensitivity keeps normal household WiFi from triggering constant alarms
- Rechargeable and pocket-sized, so it travels without a charger brick
- Infrared lens finder catches non-transmitting cameras that RF sweeps miss
Cons
- RF detection cannot see a camera that stores locally and never transmits, so the lens sweep is the step people skip and should not
Frequently asked questions
Will it find a camera that is not connected to WiFi?
Not with the RF sweep, since there is no signal to detect. That is what the infrared lens finder is for: it reflects off the camera optic whether or not the device is transmitting.
Does normal WiFi set off constant false alarms?
It can at maximum sensitivity. Dial the sensitivity down and sweep close to surfaces rather than across the room, which is the technique the manual describes.
Can it find an AirTag or similar tracker in a car?
The magnetic sensor is aimed at trackers with magnet mounts, and the RF sweep can pick up active transmissions. For Apple trackers specifically, your phone's own unwanted-tracker alert is still the most reliable check.
How long does the battery last on a sweep?
A charge covers several room sweeps. It recharges over USB, so topping it up in a hotel room alongside a phone is straightforward.
