The 19-inch smokeless fire pit light enough to take camping
Is this the right fit?
- Best for
- smaller patios where a 27-inch pit would dominate, campers who want a real fire without a permanent ring, and anyone tired of rotating around a fire to stay out of the smoke
- Skip if
- Smokeless only works once the pit is up to temperature, so the first several minutes after lighting still smoke like any normal fire

A 19-inch stainless steel wood-burning fire pit using a double-wall airflow design: air drawn in at the base is preheated between the walls and vented back in through a ring of upper holes, which burns off the smoke particles that would otherwise drift into people's faces. It ships with a removable stand so it can sit on a deck or a picnic table rather than only on bare ground, and the whole unit is light enough to move to a campsite or a beach rather than living permanently in one spot. Stainless construction handles repeated heat cycling without the scaling that mild steel develops. Best fit: smaller patios where a 27-inch pit would dominate, campers who want a real fire without a permanent ring, and anyone tired of rotating around a fire to stay out of the smoke.

Cons

Frequently asked questions
Is it actually smokeless?
Substantially reduced, not zero. Once the double wall is hot the secondary burn consumes most of the smoke. The startup period before it reaches temperature smokes like any wood fire, and damp wood smokes regardless.
Can I put it directly on a wood deck?
Use the included stand, and add a heat shield or paver underneath for a wood or composite deck. The stand raises it but does not eliminate radiant heat downward.
What wood should I burn in it?
Dry seasoned hardwood in short splits. Moisture is the main cause of smoke, so wood that has seasoned under cover matters more than the pit design does.
How do I clean out the ash?
Let it cool completely, then lift the unit off the stand and tip the ash out. There is no ash pan to empty separately.
Will it fit a standard fire pit cover?
Measure before buying a cover. At 19 inches it is smaller than the 27-inch pits most universal covers are cut for.
