Is it really smokeless or just low-smoke?
Once the fire is fully established and the secondary burn kicks in, smoke is essentially gone. During startup with paper and kindling you get the normal smoke until things heat up, usually a few minutes.
Can I leave it outside year-round?
The 304 stainless steel resists rust well, but Solo Stove recommends covering it or storing it indoors in wet weather to extend its lifespan and keep the finish.
Will the stand actually protect a wood deck?
The included stand raises the bowl high enough that it has been tested safe for wood decks at the official measured clearance. Always follow the local fire code and keep a clearance zone clear of flammables.
Does it burn pellets or only logs?
Solo Stove sells a Bonfire pellet adapter sold separately. Out of the box it is designed for standard split firewood, ideally seasoned hardwood for the cleanest burn.
