The Liene Pearl N200 Pro is a pocket-sized photo printer that connects to a phone over Bluetooth and prints 2x3 inch photos using dye sublimation rather than ink. Dye sub heats colored film to transfer pigment into the paper, then lays down a clear protective coat, so the prints come out dry, smudge-resistant, and water-resistant instead of the flat matte look you get from thermal sticker printers. The paper is peel-and-stick backed, so prints double as stickers for a journal, a locker, or a photo wall. It ships with 50 sheets and the companion app handles cropping, filters, and collage layouts. Best fit: scrapbooking, bulletin boards, party favors, and anyone who wants physical photos without a trip to a kiosk.
Pros
- Dye sublimation output is water-resistant and does not smudge, unlike thermal prints
- Prints are adhesive-backed so they work as stickers straight off the printer
- Connects over Bluetooth with no cable or computer required
- Ships with 50 sheets so you are not buying consumables on day one
Cons
- Refill packs are an ongoing cost, and per-print it is more expensive than a drugstore photo kiosk
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between this and a cheaper inkless printer?
Cheaper pocket printers use thermal paper, which produces flat, often bluish images that fade. This uses dye sublimation with a ribbon, so you get full-color photo output with a protective coating over it.
What size are the prints?
2x3 inches, the standard credit-card-ish size used for photo stickers and mini albums.
Do the prints fade over time?
Dye sublimation prints hold up considerably better than thermal ones because of the clear laminate layer applied during printing. Direct sunlight will still fade any photo print eventually.
Does it need to stay connected to my phone while printing?
Yes. It pulls the image over Bluetooth as it prints, so keep the phone nearby and the app open until the sheet finishes its passes.
