An Onmiwod wall hanger made from solid Acacia hardwood with a built-in storage shelf and pick holder, using an auto-locking safety grip: the yoke closes around the headstock under the guitar's own weight, so the instrument cannot be knocked off the hook. It mounts at an 80 degree upward angle. The contact pads are anti-aging silicone rather than the PU foam most hangers use, which matters because PU foam degrades and can react with nitrocellulose guitar finishes over time, leaving marks on the neck. It fits acoustic, electric, classical, and bass headstocks. Hanging a guitar on the wall is also the most reliable way to make yourself play it more. Best fit: small apartments, studios, and anyone whose guitar lives in a case.
Pros
- Auto-lock grip closes around the headstock under the guitar's weight, so it cannot be bumped off
- Anti-aging silicone contact pads instead of PU foam, which can react with nitro finishes
- Built-in shelf and pick holder means picks and a capo stop disappearing
- Solid Acacia hardwood with visible grain, so it looks like furniture rather than hardware
Cons
- It holds one guitar, so a collection needs several units and careful spacing on the wall
Frequently asked questions
Will this damage a nitrocellulose finish?
The contact points use anti-aging silicone specifically rather than PU foam. PU foam is the material known to degrade and react with nitrocellulose finishes over time. Silicone is the safer choice, though with any vintage nitro finish it is still worth checking the contact area periodically.
What guitars does it fit?
It is listed as compatible with acoustic, electric, classical, and bass guitars. The auto-lock yoke adjusts to different headstock widths.
How does the auto-lock work?
When you set the guitar in, the weight of the instrument rotates the yoke arms closed around the headstock. Lifting the guitar straight up releases it. This prevents the guitar being knocked off the hanger accidentally.
Can it mount into drywall without a stud?
A hanging guitar puts real load on the mount, so anchoring into a stud is strongly recommended. If you must use drywall alone, use heavy-duty anchors rated well above your guitar's weight.
