Start with where a fountain will sit and how you will clean it. A battery changes placement options; an app changes the information available; a different bowl changes access to the water. None removes the need to inspect, refill and wash the fountain.
These five researched options cover a connected plug-in station, cordless placement, a compact plastic design, two-level ceramic bowls and a larger circular steel bowl. They are alternatives for different routines, not a tested ranking. We have not measured noise, battery endurance, drinking behavior, app accuracy or cleaning time.
“Wireless pump” does not necessarily mean battery-powered. Check the exact model rather than transferring features between similarly named fountains.
Whichever you choose, plan a protected cable route, disconnect power before maintenance and never run the pump dry. Match replacement filters to the exact model. Choose the maintenance routine you will sustain—not an unsupported promise of better health or a cat drinking more.

PETLIBRO Dockstream 2 Stainless Fountain
This black, three-liter Dockstream 2 is the plug-in PLWF106, not the newer cordless sibling. PETLIBRO lists continuous and intermittent modes, 2.4GHz/5GHz Wi-Fi, and no built-in battery, motion detection or RFID. It fits a planned location near an outlet when app logs and reminders are features you will actually use. The app records are supplementary observations, not a substitute for checking the water. The manufacturer describes tracking as one pet at a time; do not assume shared-bowl records identify individual animals. Its stainless drinking surface also does not mean every component is stainless steel. For PLWF106, only the integrated stainless water/filter tray receives dishwasher permission within specified limits; the filter lid is excluded and the base must not be rinsed or submerged. Its current support guidance recommends filters every two weeks for one pet, more often for several pets, with regular component cleaning.

The verified black PLWF115 has a 2.5-liter removable tank, stainless drinking tray and rechargeable base. It has no app control. It is the older Dockstream Cordless model, also labeled Dockstream 1 on Amazon—not Dockstream 2 Cordless. The important compromise is flow: plugged in, it can run continuously; unplugged, it uses approach-triggered and periodic flows. A continuous stream without a cable is therefore the wrong expectation. Plan a charging routine rather than relying on a maximum-runtime headline, and do not treat battery power as outdoor weatherproofing. Use indoors; PETLIBRO advises against outdoor use. For PLWF115, current PETLIBRO guidance says no dishwasher, while its PLWF115_V1.0 manual permits the stainless part and its non-detachable attached part. Because those sources conflict, hand-wash washable parts unless PETLIBRO confirms the rule for your supplied revision. Keep the electrical base dry.

Catit PIXI 43717 Drinking Fountain, Blue
The blue 43717 is the standard plastic PIXI, not PIXI Smart or the stainless-top version. Its removable spout changes the water presentation between an arcing stream and bubbling top.
