Proven seller pick: 4.6 stars on Roborock's Q5 Pro, the LiDAR-mapped 5500Pa bot that consistently beats sub-$300 competitors on pet-hair pickup and route planning.
Pros
- 5500Pa suction is more than 2x most sub-$300 bots, so it actually pulls dust out of low-pile rugs instead of pushing it around
- DuoRoller dual-rubber brush handles long hair and pet hair without the wrap-and-jam problem bristle rollers have
- LiDAR plus 3D mapping means it learns rooms in one pass and you can no-go-zone specific corners from the app
- 240-minute runtime finishes most one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments in a single charge
Cons
- Mop function is the basic flat-tank drag style, fine for daily light cleanup but not a replacement for a proper mop on a sticky kitchen spill
Frequently asked questions
Does this come with the auto-empty dock?
No. The Q5 Pro itself is the standalone bot. The version with the self-emptying dock is the Q5 Pro+ (different listing). The Q5 Pro empties manually into the trash via a clip-out bin.
How does it handle pet hair?
The DuoRoller dual-rubber brush is specifically designed to resist hair tangle. Owners with shedding dogs and cats consistently report less weekly brush cleaning than they had on bristle-roller bots.
Can it climb onto rugs and over thresholds?
Yes, the Q5 Pro can clear obstacles up to 2 centimeters (about 0.8 inch), which covers most low-pile rugs and standard floor transitions. Tall medium-pile rugs may stop it.
Is the app required, or can it run from a button?
There is a clean and dock button on the bot itself for quick runs. The app unlocks the deeper features like room-by-room scheduling, no-go zones, vacuum-then-mop sequencing, and the 3D map view.
Does it work with Alexa or Google Home?
Yes. It supports voice commands through Alexa and Google Assistant after a quick app pairing. Apple Home is not natively supported.
