The GARYE WL-01 set includes four carbon fiber pickleball paddles, six 40-hole outdoor balls, and a carrying bag. Each paddle pairs carbon fiber face plates with a high-density polypropylene honeycomb core, the construction most mid-range paddles use because the honeycomb dampens vibration while the carbon face adds control and spin. All four are USAPA approved, so they are legal for tournament and league play rather than recreation only. The grip is ridged, perforated, and cushioned to absorb sweat and resist slipping. Buying four at once matters because doubles is the default format and a two-paddle set means guests are watching. Best fit: families, beginner and intermediate players, and anyone hosting games.
Pros
- Four paddles covers a doubles game outright instead of leaving two people spectating
- USAPA approved, so they are legal for league and tournament play, not just backyard use
- Carbon fiber face over a polypropylene honeycomb core adds control and dampens vibration
- Includes six outdoor balls and a carry bag, so nothing else is needed to start
Cons
- These are solid all-around paddles rather than specialist gear, so a competitive player chasing a specific weight or swing profile will outgrow them
Frequently asked questions
Are these legal for tournament play?
Yes. The GARYE WL-01 paddles are tested and approved by the USAPA for tournament play and international pickleball events.
Are the balls indoor or outdoor?
The set includes 40-hole balls, which is the outdoor pattern. Outdoor balls are harder with smaller holes to handle wind, while indoor balls have larger holes and are lighter.
Is this a good set for total beginners?
Yes. The carbon face and honeycomb core give a forgiving, controlled feel that suits beginners and intermediates, and the set includes everything needed to play immediately.
What is the grip like for sweaty hands?
The handle is ridged, perforated, and cushioned specifically to absorb sweat and resist slipping. If you play in heat, most players still add an overgrip eventually, which is normal for any paddle.
