Is this the recalled version of the BowFlex 552?
No. The Results Series 552 is the redesigned version released after the recall. It uses an updated metal-on-metal selection mechanism instead of the plastic part that caused the older model to drop weights mid-rep.
What is the weight range and increment?
Each dumbbell adjusts from 5 lb to 52.5 lb in 2.5 lb increments up to 25 lb, then 5 lb increments above that. You get 15 weight settings per hand.
Does the price include the stand?
No. The base listing is the pair of dumbbells only. The matching stand is sold separately and the bundle costs more. Most owners eventually buy the stand because picking the dumbbells up off the floor at 52.5 lb is awkward.
Do I have to subscribe to the JRNY app to use them?
No. The dumbbells work fully as standalone equipment. The free JRNY app trial that comes with the purchase is optional and gives you guided workouts, but you can ignore it and use the weights with any program.
