Frequently asked questions
Do I need a subscription?
No. The doorbell works without a subscription for live view and motion alerts. A Blink subscription ($3/mo) adds cloud video storage and person-detection alerts.
Does it work with my existing chime?
Yes if hardwired. With batteries only, it uses the Sync Module Mini Mode (separate purchase) or pings your phone instead of the chime.
Can it integrate with Ring?
No, despite both being Amazon-owned. Blink uses the Blink app, Ring uses Ring. They do share Alexa integration so a single Echo can announce both.
What is the field of view?
135 degrees horizontal, 1:1 aspect ratio, the head-to-toe portrait view that captures porch floor to top of visitor head from a single 4-foot install height.
