Is it safe to fall asleep under?
It has overheat protection that shuts it off if the controller exceeds 158F or the heating wire exceeds 248F. Even so, most manufacturers advise against sleeping under a heated blanket overnight.
How big is it really?
50 by 60 inches, which is a throw size. It covers one adult on a couch comfortably but will not cover a queen bed.
Does the cord get in the way?
The controller cord plugs into one corner and detaches completely. When you are not heating it, it behaves like a normal throw blanket.
