As an Amazon Associate, FindVault earns from qualifying purchases. This is a research-based selection, not hands-on testing. These five products solve different desktop connection problems; they are not ranked as interchangeable competitors. Buy only the function you lack. No live prices, stock, ratings or measured performance are asserted.
Check whether the available computer port is rectangular USB-A or reversible USB-C. Then identify the missing function: more peripheral ports, wired networking, reading a microSD card or moving files on removable storage. A USB-C connector alone does not promise video output or laptop charging. This selection does not include a monitor dock.
We selected identifiable models from the existing catalog with manufacturer documentation and matching Amazon US identities. This is a use-case shortlist, not an exhaustive test. Interface and speed claims are manufacturer specifications, not results measured by FindVault. Core hardware functions require no subscription; networking still needs a working network and applicable internet service.

#1
Sabrent HB-UM43: Four Switched USB-A Data Ports
Fits a computer with USB-A when you want four USB-A data ports and individual switches with status lights. The manufacturer specifies a USB 3.0 interface up to 5Gbps; attaching it to USB 2.0 does not produce USB 3.0 speed. The Amazon listing explicitly says it is not for charging. Skip it for HDMI, Ethernet or laptop power delivery. Safely eject storage before switching its port off. Research-based selection, not hands-on testing; sources checked October 30, 2026. Amazon US identity: B00JX1ZS5O.
Manufacturer specifications#2
Plugable USBC-HUB4A: Four USB-A Data Ports from USB-C
Fits a computer with USB-C when the peripherals you already own use USB-A. It offers four USB-A data ports on a 15cm integrated cable. The upstream 5Gbps connection is shared, not multiplied by four. It is bus-powered: Plugable’s compatibility prose specifies 900mA total on USB 3.0. Skip it for laptop charging, a monitor, Ethernet, Apple SuperDrive or several power-hungry drives. Check each peripheral’s power demand. The box lists a hub and quick-start guide, not an external power supply. Research-based selection, not hands-on testing; checked October 30, 2026. Amazon US identity: B0C4QBC3QP, not USB3-HUB4A.
Manufacturer specifications#3
TP-Link UE300: USB-A to Gigabit Ethernet for Wired Desks
Fits a USB-A computer that needs Ethernet rather than more peripheral ports. UE300 has one RJ45 10/100/1000 port and a foldaway USB 3.0 cable. The package lists an adapter and quick-installation guide: supply your own Ethernet cable and working network. Gigabit is the interface rating, not a tested internet speed. The ASIN does not fix the shipped hardware revision. If you need a particular revision, confirm it before ordering; match the received label to TP-Link’s support branch before installing drivers. Do not assume every operating system or hardware revision works without drivers. Research-based selection, not hands-on testing; checked October 30, 2026.
Manufacturer specifications#4
Kingston MobileLite Plus MLPM: A USB-A microSD Reader
Fits a USB-A computer and a separate compatible microSD card. MLPM supports microSDHC/SDXC UHS-II and is backward-compatible with UHS-I; it is not the full-size-SD reader. The reader supplies no storage capacity by itself. Host and card both affect transfer speed, and a UHS-I card does not become UHS-II. Check Kingston’s current operating-system compatibility list before buying; do not assume universal support. A USB-C-only computer needs a compatible adapter or a different reader. Research-based selection, not hands-on testing; checked October 30, 2026.
Manufacturer specifications#5
Samsung BAR Plus 128GB: Read Speed Versus Write Speed
Fits a USB-A file-transfer workflow rather than a shortage of ports. The exact linked variant is Titan Gray MUF-128BE4/AM, not silver MUF-128BE3/AM. Samsung’s 2024 revision 1.3 data sheet specifies up to 400MB/s sequential reads and up to 60MB/s sequential writes for 128GB under its own test conditions. Do not treat the read figure as a promise for copying files onto it. A USB-C-only computer needs a compatible adapter or a different drive. Keep another copy of important files; removable media is not a backup plan by itself. Research-based selection, not hands-on testing; checked October 30, 2026.
